What I Do


Resumes are used to tell you what I’ve done. But unless they are extended beyond the point of needing a Cliff Notes version, they can’t fully tell you what I can do.  Rather than muddying up the Examples page, I thought I’d separate all that out here. You're welcome!

A Caveat: What I Don't Do

I’ve found some folks presume that unmentioned skill sets automatically come with those mentioned.

To avoid any confusion, I want to be very transparent about areas where I don't claim expertise. Nobody likes that kind of surprise!

Writer
  I gave you a taste of the depths of my writing skills on the home page (mmm, tasty depths) but my wordsmithing abilities go far beyond that. They even include writing/designing/creating PowerPoint presentations... and surprise, people still use those. Go figure.

Creative Director
  I’m good at wrapping my arms around the entirety of a project and letting my team play to their strengths.  I also encourage everyone in teams I’ve directed to put a critical eye on each other’s work without the need for hurt feelings (it’s not your MOM, it’s just your project). That gives everyone a true feeling of team involvement.

Media Producer
  I started in video production so I run the gamut of video expertise, from scripting to camera direction, directing of actors to placement of video hosts and how they interact with their digital environment. Creating television commercials brought a certain understanding of text layout in a presentation, so that naturally translates to web pages and the Flash stage; all are just different delivery mechanisms for a message.
